Bengaluru, April 20, 2023 – In the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, the current Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai filed his nomination as a BJP candidate from the Shiggaon assembly constituency earlier tomorrow.
Accompanied by the party’s national president JP Nadda and popular Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeepa, Bommai submitted his nomination papers at the election office in Shiggaon.
The Chief Minister expressed his confidence in winning the election from the Shiggaon constituency and thanked the party leadership for giving him the opportunity to contest from there. “I am grateful to the BJP for giving me the chance to contest from Shiggaon. It is a great responsibility and I am confident that the people of the constituency will repose their faith in me,” said Bommai after filing his nomination.
Party’s national president JP Nadda, who was present at the nomination filing, spoke about Bommai’s leadership qualities and his contribution to the state’s development. “Basavaraj Bommai has been an able leader and has worked tirelessly for the development of Karnataka. I am confident that under his leadership, the state will continue to prosper,” said Nadda.
Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeepa, who has been campaigning for the BJP in the state, also expressed his support for Bommai. “I have been campaigning for the BJP in Karnataka and I have seen first-hand the kind of work that Basavaraj Bommai has done. He is the right candidate for Shiggaon and I am confident that he will win the election,” said Sudeepa.
The assembly elections in Karnataka are scheduled to be held on May 12, 2023, and the results will be declared on May 15. The BJP is hoping to retain power in the state and has been campaigning aggressively in the run-up to the elections. With the nomination of Basavaraj Bommai, the party is confident of a strong performance in the Shiggaon constituency.
