Former Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, has made a startling claim regarding the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Ratcliffe, there is “overwhelming evidence” that the virus was manufactured in the Wuhan lab, and there has never been any discovery of an intermediate host to support a natural origin.
Ratcliffe, who served as the Director of National Intelligence under the Trump administration, made these comments during an interview on Fox News. He stated that the longer the investigation goes on, the less likely it is that the virus has a natural origin.
Ratcliffe cited China’s actions and the circumstances surrounding the biosafety at the Wuhan lab as evidence of a possible lab leak. He also pointed out a large number of coronaviruses and bats carrying coronaviruses that were brought into the Wuhan lab.
“All of that weighs heavily into making assessments at some confidence level that a lab leak was the origin for this pandemic,” Ratcliffe said.
