NEET-UG 2023 in Manipur: Exam Date and Exam City Options Announced”

Manipur state is gearing up for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for the year 2023. The examination, which serves as a gateway for aspiring medical and dental students across the country, is scheduled to take place on any date between 03 and 05 June 2023. This NEET-UG examination will be held in the traditional pen-paper mode (offline).

In light of the recent law-and-order situation in Manipur, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has collaborated closely with the State Administration and Government of Manipur to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the examination. After careful consideration and consultation, the NTA has decided to offer Exam Centres in various cities to the candidates of Manipur.

Candidates from Manipur can choose their preferred Exam City through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) facility. The IVRS facility will be available from 28 May 2023 (07:00 A.M.) to 30 May 2023 (07:00 P.M.). This flexibility allows candidates to select an Exam Centre that is most convenient for them, considering factors such as proximity and accessibility.

Furthermore, the NTA has extended the option for candidates who missed or were unable to appear for the NEET-UG 2023 and CUET (UG) 2023 due to the law-and-order situation, regardless of whether they downloaded their Admit Cards or not. Such candidates will also be able to choose a different Exam City.

The following cities have been designated as Exam Centres for Manipur candidates:

  1. Aizawl (Mizoram)
  2. Kohima/Dimapur (Nagaland)
  3. Shillong (Meghalaya)
  4. Guwahati (Assam)
  5. Jorhat (Assam)
  6. Silchar (Assam)
  7. Kolkata (West Bengal)
  8. Delhi
  9. Bengaluru (Karnataka)
  10. Imphal (Manipur)

Aspiring medical and dental students from Manipur can consider these cities while selecting their preferred Exam Centre during the allotted time frame.

In addition to the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) facility, candidates from Manipur appearing for the NEET-UG 2023 have an alternative method to select their preferred Exam City. They can contact or reach the Office of the concerned City Coordinator in one of the cities mentioned above, either where they currently reside or where they are interested in appearing for the exam. This option is available during the specified period.

Candidates must provide their exam city option, along with the name of the examination and registered application number, to the concerned City Coordinator’s office within the given timeframe. The respective City Coordinators will compile a consolidated list of candidates who have approached their office, including their application numbers, exam names, and preferred exam cities. This information will be shared with the National Testing Agency (NTA) after the specified deadline.

Moreover, candidates can also contact the NTA directly through telephone numbers 011-40759000 and 011-69227700, between 07:00 A.M. on 28 May 2023 and 07:00 P.M. on 30 May 2023. They can send SMS regarding their city preference, along with their application number and the name of the examination, to the designated mobile numbers provided for different cities. Alternatively, candidates with access to email can send their city preference information to the respective email addresses mentioned below:

  • Aizawl (Mizoram), Kohima (Nagaland), Shillong (Meghalaya): SMS – 8920146804, Helpline Numbers and Email Addresses: 011-40759000 / 011-69227700

  • Kolkata (West Bengal), Delhi, Bengaluru (Karnataka), Imphal (Manipur): SMS – 7827981314

Once the NTA receives the city change options from interested candidates through any of the above modes, they will allocate an exam center in the preferred city. The Admit Cards for these candidates will be issued online through the official exam portals of NTA. Efforts will be made to send an SMS confirmation of the city change and the availability of the Admit Card to the concerned candidates on their registered mobile numbers, with instructions to download it from the relevant exam portal mentioned above.

Furthermore, candidates who are unable to download their Admit Cards due to a lack of internet connectivity can collect them from the Help Centre in the Office of the concerned City Coordinator of NTA. These Admit Cards will also be available for collection at the District Headquarters by the concerned candidates or their authorized representatives.

These measures aim to facilitate the smooth conduct of the NEET-UG 2023 examination and ensure that candidates from Manipur have access to the necessary information and resources for a successful examination experience.

With the NEET-UG 2023 examinations drawing near, candidates are advised to make use of the IVRS facility within the designated period to ensure a hassle-free and comfortable examination experience. The NTA remains committed to conducting the NEET-UG 2023 examination smoothly, maintaining the highest standards of fairness and integrity.

The NEET-UG 2023 is a highly anticipated examination for medical and dental aspirants, and the NTA, along with the State Administration and Government of Manipur, is working diligently to provide a conducive environment for the candidates from Manipur to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
