Security Beefed Up Near Gangster Ateeq Ahmed’s House as Son’s Mortal Remains Brought for Last Rites

In the wake of the mortal remains of Asad, son of infamous gangster Ateeq Ahmed, being brought to Prayagraj for last rites, security has been beefed up in the surrounding areas of Ahmed’s residence. The Uttar Pradesh police have deployed additional personnel and set up barricades near Ahmed’s house to prevent any untoward incidents.

Asad Ahmed was a history sheeter and had multiple cases of murder and extortion registered against him. He was killed in a police encounter on April 12. After the post-mortem examination, his body was handed over to his family members and was brought to Prayagraj on Thursday.

As per the sources, the police had received information that some anti-social elements may create disturbances during the last rites of Asad Ahmed. Hence, they decided to beef up the security in the area.

Speaking to the media, a senior police official said, “We have deployed additional personnel and set up barricades in the area. We are taking all necessary measures to ensure that the last rites of Asad Ahmed are performed peacefully.”

Ateeq Ahmed is a former Samajwadi Party MP and is currently lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat. He has been accused in several criminal cases, including murder and extortion. His family members have been in the news earlier for their involvement in criminal activities.

The police are maintaining a strict vigil in the area and have urged the public to report any suspicious activity to them. They have also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the law.

The mortal remains of Asad Ahmed were cremated on Thursday amid tight security arrangements. The police have assured us that they will continue to monitor the situation in the area to ensure peace and security.
