The incident in question occurred on March 23, 2022, when a group of protestors gathered outside the Indian High Commission in London to protest against the Indian government’s treatment of farmers in Punjab. During the protest, some individuals reportedly tried to pull down the Indian flag and replace it with a Khalistan flag.
Indian High Commission Officials not only took back the Indian flag but stopped the extremist from installing the K-Flag. After the incident, a huge Indian flag was erected at the Indian High Commission in London after Khalistanis desecrated the flag of India.
The incident has sparked outrage among Sikhs in India, who view the Khalistan movement as a separatist movement that seeks to divide the country. Many Sikhs have condemned the incident and called for action against those responsible.
Speaking to the media, one of the protestors said, “We are here to demand justice for our country’s flag. The disrespect shown to our national flag is unacceptable, and we demand action against those responsible.”
The protest remained peaceful, with police personnel deployed in the area to maintain law and order. The protestors dispersed after submitting a memorandum to the British High Commission, calling for action against the Khalistan elements responsible for the incident.
