Begusarai, Bihar: A tense incident unfolded during a Janta Darbar in Begusarai, where Union Minister Giriraj Singh narrowly escaped an attack by a Muslim youth, identified as Mohammad Saifi. The event took place on the premises of the Ballia subdivision campus, within the Ballia police station area.
The altercation began when Saifi allegedly seized control of the microphone and began making inflammatory statements before attempting to physically assault the Union Minister. The prompt response from security personnel prevented the situation from escalating further, leading to Saifi’s immediate detention.
Following the incident, Giriraj Singh issued a statement, reaffirming his commitment to advocating for societal interests. “I am Giriraj, and I will always speak and fight for the interests of society. I am not going to be scared of these attacks,” he declared.
Singh also criticized those who, in his words, “pamper and caress” individuals like Saifi, referencing broader issues of communal tension, land jihad, and love jihad, which he claims are being orchestrated across the country, including in Begusarai, Bihar.
The accused, Mohammad Saifi, has been identified as a leader affiliated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). His actions have sparked significant concern and raised questions about the security measures in place at public gatherings.
The incident occurred while Giriraj Singh was engaged in listening to and addressing the concerns of local citizens during the Janta Darbar. Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack, while the incident has fueled political debate and discussions on communal harmony in the region.
