Delhi-NCR Schools on High Alert: Bomb Threats Prompt Evacuations

Today, on the 1st of May, several prominent schools across Delhi and Noida were thrown into chaos following the receipt of bomb threat emails. The threatening message stated, “We will burn Kafir’s, it is Allah’s order,” intensifying concerns among school authorities and law enforcement.

As a precautionary measure, school authorities swiftly evacuated all premises, initiating a comprehensive search operation in collaboration with law enforcement. The threat was particularly severe at several Delhi Public School (DPS) locations, including DPS in Dwarka and DPS Basant Kunj, alongside DPS Knowledge Park in Noida.

Additionally, schools such as Amity School in Delhi’s Pushp Vihar and Culture of Delhi School were targeted, compelling the evacuation of students and staff. The presence of Delhi Police and bomb disposal squads was reported at these sites as searches continued.

Reports indicate that more than 50 schools across the National Capital Region (NCR) received similar threats, prompting a coordinated response from law enforcement agencies. The Delhi Police have disclosed that the threats were transmitted via email and phone calls to the affected institutions.

In response to this alarming situation, Delhi Police have launched a specialized investigative team to probe the origin of these threats and ensure the safety of students and staff. Efforts are underway to assess the credibility of the threats and restore normalcy to the affected educational institutions.
