Ministry of Home Affairs Declares Meitei Extremist Organizations Unlawful, Citing Threats to National Security

In a decisive move aimed at curbing secessionist and violent activities in Manipur, the Ministry of Home Affairs has declared four Meitei extremist organizations as unlawful associations for a period of five years.

The banned groups include the Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) and its political wing, the Revolutionary Peoples’ Front (RPF), as well as the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and its armed wing, the Manipur Peoples’ Army (MPA).
