Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: In a case that shocked the nation, Ankit Malviya, a resident of Bhopal, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a six-and-a-half-year-old girl.
The incident took place on September 27, 2021, when the girl, who used to go to Ankit’s sister’s house for tuition, had gone to collect some toffees from Ankit’s room. Instead of giving her toffees, Ankit blindfolded the girl and committed the heinous crime.
After the incident, the girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police, who arrested Ankit and produced him before the court. After hearing both sides, the court convicted Ankit of the crime and sentenced him to life imprisonment on February 13, 2023.
