Massive 7.8 Quake Ravages Central Turkey: Search and Rescue Teams on the Ground to Assess Damage and Casualties

A massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck the central region of Turkey within the last hour, leaving severe damage and multiple casualties in its wake.

Reports from the region indicate that the tremors were felt across multiple provinces, with the full extent of the destruction still being determined.

Local authorities have reported that search and rescue teams were immediately directed to the affected regions, in an effort to locate survivors and provide vital aid to those in need. In addition, emergency responders are actively working to assess the damage caused by the earthquake.

No official death toll has been released at this time, however, early reports suggest that the quake has taken a devastating toll on the region. In the wake of the earthquake, the Turkish government has issued a state of emergency in the affected regions, as well as a call for donations to provide aid to those in need.
