AAP MP Sanjay Singh Arrested by ED in Delhi Liquor Policy Case

New Delhi: In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Sanjay Singh, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The arrest followed an extensive raid conducted by the ED at Singh’s residence in Delhi, which lasted approximately ten hours.

The Enforcement Directorate had initiated the search operation at the Delhi residence of Sanjay Singh, a prominent member of the AAP, earlier in the day as part of its probe into the liquor scam case. After thorough interrogation and scrutiny of evidence, the ED took the decision to place Singh under arrest in the afternoon.

This move by the ED comes in the wake of similar searches conducted at the properties of several individuals associated with Sanjay Singh. The arrest of the AAP leader has sent shockwaves through the political circles and the Aam Aadmi Party.

One of the key figures linked to the Delhi liquor policy scam, Delhi-based businessman Dinesh Arora, was recently named as an accused in the ED’s charge sheet. Arora, who reportedly met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in the presence of Sanjay Singh, stated during questioning by the ED that he had come into contact with Singh during an event. He further mentioned having connections with former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, through Singh.

According to Arora, the event they attended was organized to raise funds before the Delhi elections. This development follows earlier raids conducted by the ED on the residences of two of Singh’s associates, Ajit Tyagi and Sarvesh Mishra, in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case earlier this year.

The Enforcement Directorate’s investigation into the Delhi Liquor Policy case continues, with ongoing raids at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.

Before his arrest, Sanjay Singh sought the blessings of his mother and shared a video on social media, expressing his determination to face any challenges that come his way. In his statement, he stated, “No one can harm anyone who has the blessings of his mother. Every revolutionary has to see jail, today Sanjay Singh also got this privilege. We were neither afraid nor will we be afraid; we will continue to fight against injustice.”

In response to her husband’s arrest, Anita Singh, Sanjay Singh’s wife, shared her thoughts, saying, “He said, ‘You are the brave wife of a brave man, so don’t lose courage.'”

The arrest of Sanjay Singh has generated significant attention and discussions within the political landscape of Delhi, with further developments expected as the investigation unfolds.
