UP CM Yogi Adityanath Directs Police to Act Against ‘Pro-Palestine’ Statements on Social Media, Stresses No Support for Terrorism

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the state police to take action against individuals making ‘pro-Palestine’ statements or posts on social media.

The directive, aimed at maintaining law and order in the state, emphasizes the importance of preventing the propagation of any terrorist organization, including Hamas. Yogi Adityanath has also urged religious clerics and senior leaders to promote peaceful discussions on the sensitive issue.

In a recent development, CM Yogi Adityanath voiced concern over social media content related to the Israel-Palestine conflict. He directed the state police to take appropriate measures to curb statements or posts that express support for the ‘pro-Palestine’ movement, citing potential risks to public harmony and national security.

Previously, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students had shown their solidarity with the Palestinian cause by protesting during the Israel-Palestine conflict. This demonstration garnered attention as they voiced their support for Palestine amid growing tensions.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directive to the police to take action against ‘pro-Palestine’ statements and posts on social media followed these protests.

In his address, the Chief Minister clarified that the government’s intention is not to stifle freedom of expression but to prevent any dissemination of content that might support or glorify terror organizations. Hamas, considered a terrorist organization by several countries, has raised concerns due to its involvement in violent activities.

Furthermore, Yogi Adityanath has reached out to religious clerics and senior community leaders, urging them to play an active role in encouraging open and peaceful discussions on the Israel-Palestine issue. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding, advocating for peaceful solutions to global conflicts.

In line with the directive, law enforcement agencies in the state will closely monitor social media platforms to identify and take action against individuals who post content that promotes terrorism or supports extremist ideologies.

The state government aims to ensure that Uttar Pradesh remains a peaceful and harmonious region, safeguarding the interests and security of its citizens. As the state takes measures to address ‘pro-Palestine’ sentiments on social media, the focus remains on upholding law and order while encouraging constructive and peaceful discourse among its residents.
