Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: In a major breakthrough, the Baghpat Police have successfully thwarted a rising tide of drug trade in the state, arresting three individuals accused of illegal drug smuggling. The operation led to the confiscation of a substantial consignment of 8 quintals of Cannabis, valued at over Rs 1.25 crore.
The intercepted Cannabis shipment was traced from Odisha to Haryana, and the police acted swiftly to apprehend the culprits. The arrest occurred during a routine check near Gauri Jawaharnagar’s turn when a truck with the registration number RJ 40 GA 5843 was flagged down by the authorities.
Upon thorough inspection, law enforcement discovered 8 quintals and 17 kg of Cannabis cleverly concealed within sacks of cashew peels in the back of the truck. The seized contraband, with an estimated street value exceeding Rs 1.25 crore, marks a significant victory in the fight against illegal drug activities in the region.
