Major Railway Accident in Bihar’s Buxar: North East Express Derails Near Raghunathpur Station

Buxar, Bihar: In a tragic incident, 21 carriages of train number 12506, the North East Express, en route from Delhi to Guwahati, derailed near Raghunathpur station, Buxar, Bihar. The incident has led to a massive rescue operation in progress to assist the passengers.

Deputy CM of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, expressed his concern over the incident and urged for swift action. He stated, “On the sad incident of the overturning of several bogies of the North East Express going from Delhi to Guwahati in Buxar, after talking to the Disaster Management Department, Health Department, and district officials of Buxar and Bhojpur, they should reach the spot as soon as possible, speed up the relief and rescue work and make proper medical arrangements for the injured. Instructed to do so.”

The Bihar government has taken immediate and proactive steps to engage in rescue, relief, and treatment efforts for the victims and the injured.

In Sub-Divisional Hospital Jagdishpur and Shahpur Hospital, District Bhojpur, medical officers and other health workers are prepared for rescue and relief operations.

Ambulances from Rohtas, Buxar, and Bhojpur districts have been dispatched to the accident site to provide swift medical assistance.

The incident has prompted a focused response from the state’s administration to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers and address the aftermath of the derailment. Further updates on the situation will follow as the rescue operation continues.
