Operation Ajay: India Launches Mission to Bring Back Citizens from Israel Amidst Gaza Conflict, First Batch Arrived at Delhi

In an earnest endeavor to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad, India has initiated “Operation Ajay,” a mission aimed at facilitating the return of 18,000 Indian nationals from Israel amidst the escalating conflict in the Gaza Strip involving the Hamas group.

The announcement was made by India’s Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, who took to social media to emphasize the government’s commitment to the welfare of its nationals abroad. In a post on Social Media Platform X (Twitter), he stated, “Special charter flights and other arrangements are being put in place. Fully committed to the safety and well-being of our nationals abroad.”

The first batch of Indian citizens who had registered to return under Operation Ajay has received notifications regarding their imminent departure. According to a statement released by the Indian embassy in Israel, they will be accommodated on the inaugural special flight set to depart for India tomorrow.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar extended a warm welcome to the nationals arriving on the first flight. A total of 212 Indian nationals from Israel landed at Delhi’s airport, where they received support and assistance upon their arrival.

The operation has chartered an Air India flight, AI 1140, to execute the repatriation process. The flight departed from Israel and now arrived on time as scheduled to touch down at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 5:00 AM this morning.

“Operation Ajay” has been set in motion by the central government to ensure the safe return of the approximately 18,000 Indians currently stranded in Israel and the conflict-ridden Gaza region.

The government remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the well-being of its citizens, particularly during challenging times abroad.

As the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve, Operation Ajay serves as a testament to India’s dedication to the safety and welfare of its nationals, even in the face of complex and tumultuous circumstances.

The government’s proactive response aims to provide much-needed reassurance to Indian citizens in distress. It stands as a testament to the nation’s unwavering support for its people worldwide.
